Research protocols
General best-practice guidance for handling research peptides in a laboratory setting.
Reconstitution
- 01Allow the lyophilized vial and bacteriostatic water to reach room temperature.
- 02Wipe both stoppers with an alcohol swab.
- 03Slowly inject the bacteriostatic water down the inside wall of the vial — never directly onto the powder pellet.
- 04Gently swirl to dissolve. Do not shake; vigorous agitation can denature peptides.
- 05Once fully dissolved, label the vial with reconstitution date and concentration.
Storage & stability
- 01Unopened lyophilized vials: store at −20 °C, protected from light, for long-term stability.
- 02Short-term lyophilized storage (≤30 days): refrigerated at 2–8 °C is acceptable.
- 03Reconstituted vials: refrigerate at 2–8 °C and use within 28 days for most peptides.
- 04Avoid repeat freeze/thaw cycles after reconstitution.
- 05Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources at all times.
Handling & sterility
- 01Always work on a disinfected surface with clean nitrile gloves.
- 02Use a new sterile syringe and needle for every draw.
- 03Wipe the rubber stopper with alcohol before every needle entry.
- 04Do not return drawn material to the vial.
- 05Discard sharps in an approved biohazard container.
Safety & compliance
- 01All materials are sold strictly for in-vitro research and laboratory use only.
- 02Not for human or veterinary use, ingestion, or administration.
- 03Operators must follow institutional biosafety and chemical-hygiene policies.
- 04Maintain accurate batch records, including lot number and reconstitution date.
- 05Consult the certificate of analysis (COA) for the specific lot before use.
